Tesla CEO Elon Musk admitted he spent "a bit too much time on politics," though he said media overemphasized his political involvement. In an interview before SpaceX’s ninth Starship flight attempt, Musk clarified he never left Tesla, SpaceX, or social media platform X, but had shifted focus slightly more toward politics, which he has now reduced significantly. He recently stepped back from his role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to refocus on his companies. Meanwhile, SpaceX's Starship prototype exploded for the third time on May 27 after launching from Texas and disintegrating over the Indian Ocean, according to SpaceX.
