The Transport Department has initiated doorstep visits to homes and offices of vehicle owners to resolve document-related issues, provide driver’s licence services, collect taxes, and offer other key facilities. Supervised by Transport Department's special duty officer and DTO Gautam Das, the drive also targets luxury and multinational company-owned vehicles lacking valid documents. Das emphasized the importance of proper documentation for road safety, warning that missing papers can hinder insurance claims. He urged owners to clear dues and update licences, fitness certificates, permits, and pollution-free certificates. Vigilance has been increased, especially against commercial and construction vehicles without valid documents.
