Electronic Arts (EA) has cancelled the Black Panther game, developed in collaboration with Marvel, and shut down its game studio Cliffhanger Games, created for this project. The single-player game, first revealed in 2023, featured an original story with Marvel Games. EA Entertainment president Laura Miele cited recent cancellations and layoffs as part of focusing on key growth areas. Despite this, the broader Marvel partnership, including Iron Man and other titles, continues with Motive Studios leading future projects. EA has experienced multiple layoffs since 2024, including staff cuts at Respawn and restructuring at BioWare and Codemasters.
