Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Kashmir Vande Bharat Express connecting Katra and Srinagar, specially designed to operate in extreme cold, down to -20°C. It features heated windscreens, advanced heating systems, thermally insulated washrooms, and anti-spall layers for safety. Made under the “Made in India” initiative, it runs entirely on electricity and includes modern amenities like air-conditioned coaches, CCTV, and automatic doors. The train operates six days a week and will reduce travel time between Katra and Srinagar by 2–3 hours. Modi will also inaugurate the Anji Khad Bridge and Chenab Bridge, the world's highest railway arch bridge.
