Morigaon police have intensified their crackdown on cybercrime and a fake job racket linked to the Tata Semiconductor project in Jagiroad. Four individuals, including Kawaimari College lecturer Saikul Islam, were arrested for duping unemployed youths in Nagaon and Morigaon by promising fake jobs and collecting large sums of money. Mastermind Tarikul Ahmed, posing as a Tata engineer, used fake documents and online groups to lure victims. He later surrendered after hiding in Shillong. Police suspect possible foreign links and are monitoring high-risk areas. The public has been urged to stay alert and verify job offers to avoid falling into such scams.
