Fashion retailer Shein and partner Reliance Retail plan to rapidly expand their Indian supplier base from 150 to 1,000 within a year and begin overseas sales of India-made Shein-branded clothes within six to 12 months. Shein, which licenses its brand to Reliance for India, aims to list these products on its U.S. and U.K. websites. Reliance is working with garment manufacturers, adopting Shein’s on-demand manufacturing model, and investing in suppliers to grow capacity. This expansion reflects broader industry interest in India as a sourcing hub amid China-U.S. trade tensions, aiming to boost both domestic and global markets.
