President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled visit to Assam later this week has been postponed for the second time due to “unavoidable circumstances,” officials confirmed. She was to attend a state event on Thursday to confer the Srimanta Sankardeva Award to renowned dancer Sonal Mansingh. Despite her absence, the programme will proceed as planned, with the Governor presenting the award. The President’s Office has informed the Chief Minister’s principal secretary about the change. Earlier, her visit on April 25 was also postponed due to the Pahalgam terror attack and subsequent developments.
