A protest erupted in Tipkai-Paglijhora Part-II, Kokrajhar, as Bodo tribal communities opposed an eviction drive for an Adani-APDCL thermal power plant. Locals alleged the 3,600-bigha land acquisition began without consent, violating Sixth Schedule protections. On Wednesday, Adani officials and district authorities attempted to demarcate project land, sparking resistance. Protesters argued the land has been inhabited by tribals for generations. Daorao Dekrab Narzary of Boroland Jan-Jati Suraksha Manch criticized the move, citing environmental and displacement concerns. He warned of continued protests without proper consultation. The administration has not responded, highlighting tensions between development and tribal land rights.
