Apple has confirmed that its advanced AI-powered Siri features, initially expected with iOS 18.4, will now launch in 2026. At WWDC 2025, executives Craig Federighi and Greg Joswiak cited reliability issues and unmet quality standards as reasons for the delay. The features—such as on-screen awareness, personal context understanding, and in-app actions—were unveiled in 2024. Despite early promising results, Apple deemed the current performance insufficient. Joswiak emphasized avoiding customer disappointment by withholding subpar products. Federighi noted that no company has yet mastered reliable AI automation on devices, reinforcing Apple's commitment to delivering only high-quality, dependable features.
