Tipra Motha Party MLA Ranjit Debbarma has urged Assam Rifles in Tripura to expedite the Ministry of Home Affairs' directive to identify and deport illegal migrants, with only eight days left in the 30-day deadline ending May 18, 2025. In a memorandum to Brigadier Manish Rana, Debbarma recommended setting up checkposts, increasing troop deployment, and enhancing surveillance in border villages. He also requested cancellation of leaves for security personnel, better detention facilities, and jungle-clearing around camps. Emphasizing national security, Debbarma stressed strict and sincere implementation of the MHA directive to address infiltration from Bangladesh and Rohingya migrants.
