Assam Govt Grants ₹5 Lakh Ex-Gratia to Families of 13 Deceased Contractual Teachers

Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu distributed ₹5 lakh each to the families of 13 deceased contractual teachers under Samagra Shiksha Assam, as per contractual provisions. He mentioned that these teachers were assured service until age 60, and though there is no pension, the contract guaranteed financial aid in case of death during service. Certificates from 93 more families are awaited for further processing. Dr. Pegu also warned unregistered schools in Assam, stating that strict action will be taken. He announced plans to form a committee of educationists to assess and recommend changes to the academic calendar for the upcoming session.
