Several schools and Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru recently received hoax bomb threat emails. On June 13, CISF received a threatening message from a group claiming to be “Madras Tigers,” warning of human IEDs and pipe bombs at the airport. Extensive searches found no explosives, and an FIR was filed. Similarly, schools in areas like Kumbalgod and RR Nagar received bomb threats, later confirmed as hoaxes. These threats are suspected to be linked to earlier incidents across India. Between 2022 and 2024, Karnataka recorded 169 fake bomb threats, mostly in Bengaluru, leading to several arrests and investigations.
