Residents of No. 3 Borghuli village in Assam's Kaliabor subdivision protested on Tuesday against persistent low voltage issues. Holding placards and chanting slogans, including schoolchildren, the villagers demanded immediate intervention from the electricity department. Due to poor voltage, essential activities like using fans, lights, and even charging phones have become difficult, especially in the summer heat. Protesters called for the urgent installation of a high-voltage transformer to resolve the crisis. Students appealed directly to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, urging him to act swiftly to ensure reliable electricity supply in their village.
