Air India cancelled eight flights on Friday—four international and four domestic—citing enhanced maintenance and operational reasons. The airline assured affected passengers of alternative arrangements and offered full refunds or free rescheduling. International flights to and from Dubai, Melbourne, and Chennai were among those cancelled. This follows a recent tragic crash of an Air India Boeing 787 in Ahmedabad, which led the DGCA to order extra maintenance checks on all 33 of the airline’s 787 aircraft. Additionally, Air India announced a curtailment plan, suspending flights on three routes and reducing frequency on 18 others, effective June 21 to July 15.
