Central intelligence agencies have uncovered a covert espionage operation involving CRPF ASI Moti Ram Jat, arrested for leaking sensitive information to Pakistani agents. Investigators found that Pakistan routed funds to Jat using unsuspecting Indian citizens involved in routine business transactions. Over two years, Jat allegedly shared classified documents in exchange for monthly payments and lump sums. The money, deposited into his and his wife’s accounts, came from multiple states via unrelated individuals. The NIA has seized electronic devices and documents, revealing a structured espionage network using innocent intermediaries. Jat was initially contacted by a woman posing as a journalist.
