Google has proposed changes to its search results to avoid a potential EU antitrust fine, following accusations of favoring its own services like Google Shopping and Flights over rivals, violating the Digital Markets Act (DMA). Under the proposal, selected vertical search services (VSS) would appear in dedicated boxes atop search results, similar to Google's, with direct links to hotels, airlines, and more. Other VSS would appear lower without a box. While Google disagrees with the EU's findings, it seeks a resolution. However, some rivals argue the proposed changes still don’t provide fair competition. Feedback is expected at a July 8 meeting.
