Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced on June 18 that classes at Mizoram Engineering College in Pukpui village will begin soon. Inaugurated virtually by PM Modi in 2019, the college had faced delays due to technical and infrastructure issues. Built on 24.9 acres at a cost of ₹26 crore under RUSA, the college accommodates 300 students and includes labs, a library, cafeteria, hostels, and common rooms. It will initially offer Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. At the Serchhip event, Lalduhoma also emphasized plans for a state university and stronger institutions like NIT and ITI, while congratulating exam toppers.
