With the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) elections scheduled for April 2, political parties have intensified their campaigns, rallying support across constituencies in Goalpara and Kamrup districts.
A total of 2,54,644 voters across 20 council constituencies in Goalpara and 1,90,736 voters across 16 constituencies in Kamrup will play a decisive role in shaping the future leadership of the council.
Key political players, including the Congress, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rabha Hasong Joutho Mancha (RHJM), and representatives from the Garo community, are actively mobilizing their supporters as the election battle heats up.
With each party vying for influence in the autonomous council, the upcoming polls are expected to witness intense political competition, shaping the governance and development of the Rabha Hasong region.
According to the State Election Commission, a total of 4,45,586 voters are eligible to cast their votes in the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) elections on April 2. This includes 2,16,181 male voters, 2,29,394 female voters, and 11 others who will exercise their franchise across 630 polling stations.
Out of the 36 council constituencies, 25 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (STs), six for women, and 11 remain unreserved.
The vote counting is scheduled for April 4, determining the future leadership of the RHAC.
