AU Helicopter Crash at Somali Airport Leaves at Least Five Dead

A helicopter from the African Union peacekeeping mission crashed at Mogadishu's Aden Adde International Airport, killing five and injuring three others on board. The Ugandan military confirmed the crash, stating that explosives onboard detonated, damaging nearby structures and injuring three civilians. The helicopter had taken off from Baledogle Airfield before crash-landing around 7:30am. Witnesses reported a massive explosion and smoke. Despite minor delays, flights have resumed, and the situation is under control. AUSSOM, with over 11,000 personnel from nations like Uganda and Kenya, supports Somalia against al-Shabab.
