Meta is heavily investing in AI and offering high salaries to attract top talent. Recent U.S. federal filings show its top AI research engineer earns a base salary of $440,000 (approx. ₹3.76 crore), excluding bonuses and equity. Machine learning engineers earn between $165,000 and $440,000, while senior researchers and programme managers earn over $230,000. Software engineers can earn up to $480,000, and data science leaders earn $248,000–$320,000. These figures are from H-1B visa filings and don’t include stock options. Other companies, like Thinking Machines Lab by ex-OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, also offer up to $500,000 base salary for AI roles.
