The Arunachal Pradesh government launched a two-year celebration to honor Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s 125th birth anniversary with an inaugural event in Itanagar. Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik served as chief guest, with Minister Kento Jini as guest of honour. The event saw attendance from students, officials, and leaders. Professors Nabam Nakha Hina and Ashan Riddi delivered lectures on Dr. Mookerjee’s political and humanitarian legacy. Governor Parnaik highlighted Mookerjee’s relief work during the 1943 Bengal Famine. The event also celebrated the 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama, acknowledging his message of peace and his historical connection to Arunachal Pradesh.
