A fresh landslide near the 50/2 km mark between Dihakho and Mupa stations in Assam’s Dima Hasao district disrupted rail connectivity on the Lumding–Badarpur hill section late Sunday night. This area, prone to frequent landslides, has seen multiple incidents since June 23. Services were restored on June 30 after a major landslide but halted again on July 3. Several trains, including Kanchanjunga Express and Agartala–Rani Kamalapati Express, are stranded. The Northeast Frontier Railway has provided food, amenities, and set up help desks at key stations. Restoration efforts are ongoing, prioritizing passenger safety and infrastructure stability amid continuous heavy rains.
