Starting July 7, Google Gemini will be able to interact with apps like Phone, Messages, WhatsApp, and Utilities—even if Gemini App Activity is turned off. Google confirms that chats may be stored for up to 72 hours, potentially including WhatsApp messages. While this enhances functionality, it raises privacy concerns. To disable Gemini App Activity, open the Gemini app, tap your profile icon, go to “Gemini Apps Activity,” and toggle it off. For app-specific control, go to “Apps” under your profile to manage access. To completely stop tracking, users can disable the Gemini app on their Android device.
