Mizoram has heightened security along the Indo-Myanmar border after violent clashes between two Chin insurgent groups—CDF-Hualngram and CNDF—erupted in Myanmar’s Khawmawi village on July 5. Around 3,000 refugees have fled into India through Zokhawthar. Mizoram Police and Assam Rifles are on high alert, conducting regular patrols. The Young Mizo Association is offering shelter, while district officials coordinate relief efforts. Authorities are concerned about ID requirements for fleeing civilians. The government warned of the increasing presence of armed groups near the border and requested central aid to manage the crisis. Civil groups have joined efforts to support the displaced population.
