A district-level Task Force meeting on Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanese Encephalitis (JE) was held in Barpeta, chaired by the Additional District Commissioner (Health). Officials from Health, PHED, Social Welfare, Education, Agriculture, Veterinary, and block-level offices participated. A comprehensive review of JE cases led to the creation of an action plan stressing interdepartmental coordination and grassroots awareness. A separate Steering Committee meeting was also held to strategize for the upcoming Stop Diarrhea Campaign, focusing on early intervention, public awareness, and uninterrupted supply of ORS and zinc tablets to prevent outbreaks and reduce child mortality in the district.
