The Indian Coast Guard rescued two crew members—one American and one Turkish—after their US yacht, Sea Angel, suffered a complete propulsion failure near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The vessel was stranded 52 nautical miles southeast of Indira Point. Acting on a distress alert from the US Consulate in Chennai, ICG Ship Rajveer was deployed on July 10. Upon reaching the location, the Coast Guard found the yacht’s sail damaged and its propeller tangled in ropes. The yacht was towed safely to Campbell Bay and arrived on July 11, ensuring the safety of both stranded crew members.
