The Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC) reported a 27% rise in tea sales during April–June 2025, reaching 32.21 million kg, up from 25.37 million kg in 2024. CTC tea led sales, growing from 16.17 to 20.46 million kg, though average prices fell. Dust tea sales rose to 9.82 million kg, with improved pricing. Orthodox teas doubled in volume and saw a price increase. Growth was driven by higher global export participation. Premium pricing indicated strong demand. GTAC remains a key player in India's tea trade, expecting higher volumes ahead due to steady crop trends and continued buyer interest.
