Meghalaya: 925 Class XI Students Receive Digital Learning Tablets in South West Garo Hills
In a significant push for digital education, 925 Class XI students from 13 schools in South West Garo Hills have received learning tablets under the Chief Minister’s Students Digital Learning Aid (M-TAB) initiative.
The distribution event took place at the DRDA Hall, Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Ampati on Thursday, with Mahendraganj MLA Sanjay Sangma attending as the chief guest. Organized by the District Administration and the Education Department, the initiative aims to enhance digital learning and improve academic performance across Meghalaya.
Addressing the students, MLA Sanjay Sangma emphasized the growing role of technology in education and the government’s commitment to integrating e-learning into the curriculum. He encouraged students to use the digital resources responsibly while staying mindful of potential distractions.
Deputy Commissioner Hema Nayak lauded Meghalaya’s ongoing educational reforms, highlighting initiatives like the CM Impact booklet distribution and the introduction of twice-yearly Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams, ensuring students do not lose an academic year due to exam failures.
District School Education Officer (SEO) Tapos Marak acknowledged the region’s academic challenges and urged students to utilize digital tools effectively to improve their performance. Similarly, Sub-Divisional School Education Officer (SDSEO) Emphul Marak expressed confidence that such initiatives will empower students with knowledge and enhance their academic success.
