American rapper and singer-songwriter Post Malone is returning to India in 2025 for a one-night-only concert in Guwahati on December 8, as part of his Big Ass World Tour. The performance will be held at the Khanapara Veterinary Ground in Assam’s capital and marks Malone’s second visit to India, following his debut in Mumbai in 2022. Known for chart-topping hits like Rockstar (with 21 Savage), Congratulations, Circles, and Sunflower from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Malone has also recently ventured into country music, further broadening his musical repertoire. His 2024 album F-1 Trillion topped global charts, cementing his international recognition. Collaborations with renowned artists such as Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Travis Scott, Ozzy Osbourne, and Dolly Parton have further reinforced his status as a global music icon.

The Guwahati concert aligns with the Assam government’s newly launched Policy for Concert Tourism, aimed at positioning the state as a hub for international live entertainment. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma highlighted that Assam is prepared to host world-class events and described Malone’s performance as a milestone in boosting cultural engagement and economic opportunities. He noted that cities like Guwahati, Jorhat, and Dibrugarh are poised to emerge as major concert destinations in the coming years.

The December 8 concert is being produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live and Live Nation, in collaboration with the Government of Assam. Beyond India, Malone’s world tour includes headlining major international events, such as the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025 and the MDLBeast Soundstorm Festival in Riyadh, demonstrating the global scale of his performances.

Tickets for the Guwahati concert will go on sale from September 20 at 12 noon, providing fans with the opportunity to witness one of the world’s most celebrated contemporary artists live. The event is expected to draw music lovers from across Assam and neighboring states, contributing to the growth of concert tourism and establishing Assam as a key destination for international live performances.

Malone’s return to India underscores the increasing importance of international artists engaging with Indian audiences and reflects the country’s growing significance on the global concert map. His previous tour in Mumbai was met with tremendous enthusiasm, and the Guwahati concert is anticipated to generate similar excitement, attracting fans eager to experience his unique blend of rap, pop, and country influences.

By hosting such high-profile concerts, Assam’s concert tourism policy aims not only to promote cultural exchange but also to enhance local economic development through tourism, hospitality, and related sectors. Post Malone’s concert represents a convergence of international music culture and regional development goals, highlighting the potential for Assam to become a vibrant hub for live entertainment in India.

Overall, the Guwahati show encapsulates Malone’s continued global influence, Assam’s strategic cultural initiatives, and the growing appetite for international live music experiences in India. Fans can expect a night of high-energy performances, chart-topping hits, and a celebration of Malone’s extensive musical career.
