Arunachal Pradesh Receives ₹269.97 Crore for Etalin Hydroelectric Project in Dibang Valley
In a major boost to one of India’s largest hydroelectric ventures, ₹269.97 crore has been released to the Dibang Valley district administration for the 3,097 MW Etalin Hydroelectric Project in Arunachal Pradesh.
The funding milestone was marked by the official handover of a cheque by representatives of SJVN Ltd to the Deputy Commissioner of Anini, signaling a significant step forward in the project’s implementation.
Chief Minister Pema Khandu welcomed the development, expressing gratitude to those present at the ceremonial handover, including Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Chief Secretary Manish Kumar Gupta, and SJVN Chairman and Managing Director RK Chaudhury.
Highlighting the community’s support, CM Khandu extended special thanks to the Mishmi people of Dibang Valley for their cooperation and commitment to the region’s development. He emphasized their critical role in enabling the state to harness its rich hydropower potential to drive economic growth and sustainable progress.
The Etalin Hydroelectric Project is a key component of Arunachal Pradesh’s broader strategy to utilize its vast water resources and transform the state into a hub for renewable energy in the Northeast.
