The Indian Racing Festival is set to bring high-octane Formula 4 racing to five cities across Northeast India, featuring thrilling performances from both cars and bikes and highlighting the exciting future of Indian motorsport.
The Indian Racing Festival – dubbed “A Carnival of Total Control” – is revving up to bring high-octane motorsport excitement to five major cities in Northeast India. The championship will unfold from April 12 to 22, covering Kohima, Aizawl, Shillong, Guwahati, and Gangtok.
According to an official release, the festival offers an electrifying glimpse into the dynamic world of professional open-wheel racing. Audiences can expect a spectacular line-up featuring racing talents across generations — from 9-year-old karting prodigies to seasoned champions and rally legends.
A major crowd-puller will be the jaw-dropping drifting displays in high-performance vehicles such as Lexus and BMW. Alongside, gravity-defying stunts on Superbikes will add to the thrill. However, the real stars of the show will be young karting talents on Rotax Karts, pushing the boundaries of speed and control, giving audiences a taste of India’s motorsport future.
One of the festival’s main attractions will be the blazing demonstrations of international Formula 4 and Wolf cars from the Indian racing calendar. The tour schedule is as follows:
April 12 – Kohima, Nagaland
April 16 – Aizawl, Mizoram
April 19 – Shillong, Meghalaya
April 20 – Guwahati, Assam
April 22 – Gangtok, Sikkim
Powered by JK Tyre & Industries, the festival aims to elevate motorsport enthusiasm in the Northeast. JK Tyre’s flagship event, the JK Tyre National Racing Championship (JKNRC), now in its 28th year, has become a premier platform for grooming racing talent nationwide.
Motorsport icons like Padma Shri awardee and India’s first F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, and Arjuna Award-winning rally ace Gaurav Gill, are among the many prodigies nurtured by JK Tyre, the release added.
