The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) officially declared the Higher Secondary (HS) Results 2025 on Tuesday at 9 AM. The results for all three main academic streams—Arts, Science, and Commerce—along with the Vocational stream, have been published and are available on the board’s official portals and authorized websites for students to access.

In the Arts stream, a total of 2,26,756 students appeared for the examination. Of these, 1,84,745 students passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 81.03 per cent. The division-wise performance showed 49,577 students securing First Division, 80,650 in Second Division, and 53,518 in Third Division. Continuing a recurring trend, female students performed better than their male counterparts, recording a pass percentage of 82.95% compared to 78.42% among males. Among all the districts, Baksa emerged as the top-performing district in Arts with a remarkable pass percentage of 95.21%, followed closely by Darrang at 93.82%. In contrast, Cachar recorded the lowest pass percentage in the state, with only 58.96%.

In the Science stream, 56,909 students took the exams, of which 48,309 passed, resulting in a high pass rate of 84.88 per cent. Out of the successful candidates, 25,827 students earned First Division, 19,286 secured Second Division, and 3,196 obtained Third Division. Female candidates once again led the results with a pass rate of 85.54%, slightly ahead of male students at 84.39%. In terms of district performance, West Karbi Anglong made headlines by achieving a perfect 100 per cent pass rate. It was followed by Sivasagar at 97.13% and Baksa at 95.66%. At the bottom of the list was Dima Hasao district, with just a 56.27% pass rate, the lowest in the Science stream.

In the Commerce stream, 17,746 students appeared, and 14,584 passed, producing a pass percentage of 82.18 per cent. Division-wise, 6,519 students secured First Division, 5,760 got Second Division, and 2,305 fell into Third Division. Female candidates again performed slightly better than male students, with an 82.40% pass rate compared to 82.08% for males. Among the districts, South Salmara stood out by achieving a 100 per cent pass rate, though only 11 students appeared from the district.

The Vocational stream had a total pass percentage of 68.55 per cent. In this category too, female candidates excelled with a 74.39% pass percentage compared to 65.53% for males.

A significant change this year was that the ASSEB did not release a list of individual toppers across streams, breaking from the usual tradition of announcing the top-performing students. This move is likely intended to shift focus from individual rankings to overall performance and district-level outcomes.

Overall, the 2025 HS results indicate consistent improvement in pass rates, especially among female students, with several districts delivering standout performances while others lagged behind.
