At the BSF Investiture Ceremony on Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a powerful speech lauding India’s armed forces for their firm and effective response to terrorism. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and resolve for the success of "Operation Sindoor," a counter-terror operation that combined political will, accurate intelligence, and military strength. According to Shah, this strategic blend marked a new era in India’s response to terrorism.

Shah highlighted that for many years, India suffered numerous terrorist attacks due to Pakistan’s sustained support for terrorism, yet there was no adequate retaliatory action. However, a shift occurred in 2014 with the formation of a BJP-led government under Narendra Modi. Shah referenced the 2016 Uri terror attack, where Indian soldiers were brutally killed. In retaliation, India conducted surgical strikes targeting terrorist hideouts across the border — a bold and unprecedented move that signaled a new assertive stance on national security.

Focusing on Operation Sindoor, Shah said it demonstrated how the synergy of leadership, intelligence, and military action could result in impactful outcomes. He explained that Pakistan’s reaction to this operation — taking it as a direct attack on its sovereignty — inadvertently revealed its deep-rooted connections to terrorist groups. According to Shah, India’s intention was to strike terrorist networks, but Pakistan’s defensive posture exposed its role as a state sponsor of terrorism.

Further, Shah criticized Pakistan for its response to the operation. He noted that when the Pakistani military retaliated by targeting Indian civilian areas and military installations, the Indian Army responded strongly by attacking Pakistani airbases, thereby showcasing India’s military strength and strategic capability.

Amit Shah also praised the Indian forces for avenging the Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 innocent civilians were killed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists. The victims were reportedly targeted after being identified by their religion, a brutal act that shocked the nation. Operation Sindoor, according to Shah, was a direct response to this heinous act, and it served both as justice for the victims and a global demonstration of India’s resolve against terrorism.

In closing, the Union Home Minister emphasized that Operation Sindoor has not only restored national pride but has also drawn international admiration for the courage and competence of the Indian Armed Forces. He reiterated that under PM Modi’s leadership, India will continue to respond decisively and powerfully to any threats, ensuring that sacrifices made by its citizens and soldiers are not forgotten.

This speech by Amit Shah underscores a broader narrative of a strong, assertive India that does not tolerate terrorism and is ready to confront any challenge to its sovereignty and security, both militarily and diplomatically.
